Explore the Future of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Arts

Join the conversation August 6 at 10am PT

The Western Arts Alliance (WAA) Equity Committee invites arts professionals, organizers, and community advocates to join Our Communities, Our Time: A Forum on the Future, a free virtual event addressing the shifting landscape of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the performing arts and beyond.

Held one month before WAA’s in-person conference, this online gathering provides a timely space for those affected by recent executive orders and cultural rollbacks targeting DEI efforts. Through moderated conversation, participants will explore how organizations are adapting, what future-forward goals they’re setting, and how we can support one another in the face of adversity.

The forum is designed to spark dialogue and connection, with the aim of carrying these conversations forward into the WAA conference. Attendees will be encouraged to share their successes, challenges, and strategies for advancing equity amid uncertainty.

Speakers include Tony Gomez, Nadhi Thekkek, Jono Gasparro, Tamica Washington-Miller, and Courtney Ozaki. The forum will be held online using Zoom. To participate, please register in advance.
