Pressing Pause on Classical:NEXT

We need to share some disappointing news: we're pausing planning for our Classical:NEXT trade mission to Budapest this April. 

Here's what's happening: 

The recent government shutdown and current continuing resolution (funding the government only through year-end) have created significant uncertainty around our Performing Arts Discovery (PAD) Program funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce. 

After losing National Endowment for the Arts support for PAD earlier this year, we need greater assurance of stable federal funding before we can responsibly commit to international travel and provide the travel support our artist and agent delegates rely on. 

We remain hopeful. If Congress passes a full-year budget resolution, we'll resume planning immediately. A U.S. delegation to Classical:NEXT, one of Europe's premier classical music markets, remains a valuable opportunity for our members to build international touring relationships.

We know this is frustrating. We're frustrated too. But we won't commit our members to international travel without the funding infrastructure to support it properly.
