Tell us about your work.
Streetlight Cadence is a post-folk music group that combines unique instrumentation with pop-oriented songwriting. As a group, we write and perform original and cover music for live performances and for placement in film and television. We also have an travel-food-music television show called Will Play For Food, a combination of Anthon Bourdain meets The Monkees that stars the band, our stories and our original music. Streetlight Cadence is an all ages brand that seeks to have personal and positive relationships with our fans.
How old were you when you knew you wanted to be an artist (or agent), and where were you?
Our group started as street performers in college, playing on the sidewalks of Waikiki in Hawaii. After gaining some popularity on the streets, we started competing in Battle of the Bands competitions, submitting our albums for awards, and after winning an award for Alternative Album of the Year with our 2nd album, we decided we wanted to take this career all the way.
If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?
Definitely a lot of wood, some tools, and a sail. We gotta get back to the mainland and play shows!
What is the best advice you’ve gotten in your career thus far?
You have to do it yourself, no one is going to do it for you.
Name an artist you’d love to meet and why?
Ed Sheeran, he (and his team) are masterful songwriters and a huge inspiration.
“If I weren’t doing this I’d…”
Likely be much wealthier but not nearly as happy!
What are your 3 goals for the rest 2019?
Bring our TV show into major distribution, finish filming season 2, get plans underway for a 2020 tour of the TV show/live performance.
What are you working on now?
Just finished our M O M E N T A R Y album and our album release shows, now it’s time to get back to the TV show!
