The Director of the Browning Center will manage all aspects of a multi-venue academic and community performing arts center including balancing the needs of a wide range of performers, cultural art directors, audience members, donors, faculty, staff, and students. The Director will collaborate with academic, campus and community. The Director will coordinate with academic departments that require use of performance/event spaces and assign staff to setup and execute events. The Director will manage the budgets associated with operating the Browning Center and carefully manage the finances and costs associated with bringing in outside clients and supporting other campus events. The Director will work with the Lindquist College dean on extending the center's mission of the arts across the College and the WSU campus. The Director will resolve disputes between campus entities in order to maximize benefit of event spaces in accordance with campus and college missions. The Director will coordinate with Facilities Management for capital planning and general building maintenance in a manner the best supports academic programs.
Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts or related OR Bachelor's Degree in Business or related.
4 Years experience in management + 6 years experience in facility, event, or theater operation.
MFA and/or MBA, additional experience in management, facility/event/theater operations, arts administration, teaching, and/or grant writing.
