For Presenters and Artist Managers
Wednesday, September 3
4:25 pm - 5:30 pm
What are Speed Leads?
Take one part blind date, one part pitch session, one part niche-marketing, and two parts of your passion and what do you get? Speed Leads, WAA’s professional mixer. Whether you are throwing or receiving the pitch, it’s productive fun for the whole crew! Artist/managers rotate one at a time through tables seated with presenters, spending two minutes at each table. Make new connections and discover new artists and programs you might not otherwise have the chance or time to find! Twenty-five artists/projects x two minutes = one productive hour.
*Note: Presenters interested in signing up for sessions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org

How Do I Sign Up?
Speed Leads will follow a new procedure this year for signing up. These session are not first come first served, and will fill up fast. Sign up begins June 11, 2014 and ends July 18, 2014. All those who are interested in signing up will have to fill out a questionnaire to make sure that your topic fits the session you are signing up for. You are allowed to sign up for one session specific to what you are pitching to the presenters. You will need to articulate one artist or project in the application. If you choose to talk about more than one project during your 2 minute pitch, that is up to you, however WAA and presenters encourage you to follow a Less is Best plan. Focus on one or two components and highlight those. Start the interest and continue it outside of the session. DVDs and iPads are not allowed during the pitch. This is a speaking pitch for 2 minutes. Materials should be given only if presenters are interested. Should more artists sign up than fit, the Professional Development Committee will review the projects presented and determine the participants.
