Ken Waldman combines old-time Appalachian string-band music, original poetry, and Alaska-set storytelling for a performance uniquely his. Touring full-time since 1995, he's appeared at some of North America's leading concert series, performing arts centers, festivals, universities, and clubs. He has 9 CDs (including 2 for children), 8 books, and a knack for putting together shows specific to place. For his newest project, Ken Waldman & Fiddlers 8, he assembles a troupe of fiddlers—all acclaimed multi-instrumentalists—for a show that fits a venue's aesthetic and budget. The result is an evening of superb multidisciplinary placemaking that also crosses cultures.
