The Jazz Alley presents Umalali: The Garifuna Women’s Project. From the hypnotic strains of “singe singe Merua”, a traditional work song, to the cries of Hattie (the hurricane), or Yunduya Weyu (The Sun Has Set), about a difficult childbirth, the women’s voices of Umalali will capture you with their searing power and beauty. Backed by members of the Garifuna Collective, these women from Belize and Guatemala deliver inspiring performances with passion and fierce pride for their unique cultural heritage. In it's first twenty years, Dimitriou's Jazz Alley has become the West Coast's premiere jazz club. Every week the club brings the greatest names in jazz to Seattle's audiences.

Our online world offers banks of cheerful answers to a customer's standard questions: "How do I change my password?" "How do I sync my phone with my thing?" "My computer has frozen. What do I do?" But what of the questions that come after work hours, or at 3am? Questions like, "Why is my pleasure so fleeting?" "Am I here for a reason?" "Why didn't I live up to my potential?" Two of our freshest and funniest writer-performers--erstwhile Seattleites Mike Daisey (21 Dog Years: doing time@amazon.com) and Reggie Watts (Maktub, Disinformation) --will answer the *other* frequently asked questions in a show that combines improvisation and philosophy, performance and storytelling.

The Triple Door is pure Seattle. Think small-hall presenter meets world-class supper club. The Triple Door's Performance West program presents LeRoy Bell, Pacifika, and Courtney Jones. The King himself, El Vez, will be on hand to M.C.
Seattle singer songwriter LeRoy Bell's music jumps out of the box fusing acoustic soul, urban R& B, rock, and roots music into a sound entirely his own.
Pacifika, a Vancouver based trio with roots in Peru, Barbados and Canada, is making a new kind of global pop music. Jazz infused and Latin tinged, their music is marked by gently flowing melodies, deep grooves, waves of cracking percussion and the occasional burst of exhilarating guitar noise.
Just added! The Northwest’s own singer/songwriter Courtney Jones is backed by an all-star band and produced by Peter Malick, who helmed Norah Jones’ stunning breakthrough Come Away with Me. Says Performing Songwriter Magazine “Jones' vibrant vocals and infectious songs make her sound more like a seasoned veteran than a newcomer.”
NOTE: Forro in the Dark had to cancel their Performance West show due to a scheduling conflict.
