Franc D’AmbrosioOpening/Awards Luncheon
Thursday, September 8, 12:30pm-2:00pm
Convention Center Ballroom
Price: $15; Guests: $20

Sponsored by LML Music

Celebrate the best and the brightest of the Western Arts Alliance at our annual kick-off lunch! The Awards Luncheon is a special opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and achievement of your peers. Make sure you don't miss the opportunity to start the week off on a high note.

WAA is delighted to welcome Franc D'Ambrosio as our lunchtime sponsored showcase artist. Franc is probably best known for his role in Phantom of the Opera, in which he brought more than 5 million theater goers to their feet in over 2600 performances, earning him the title of "World's Longest Running Phantom."

Franc made his Broadway debut in Sweeney Todd, and since then has acquired an extensive resume. He can be seen in Godfather III in the role of Anthony Corleone, the opera-singing son of Al Pacino and Diane Keaton. The film received seven Academy Award nominations, including "Best Score", which featured Franc on the Original Motion Picture soundtrack.

His other credits include Copacabana, for which he was hand picked by Barry Manilow, and he earned a National Theatre Award nomination for "Best Male Performer in a Musical." He has also received a Grammy consideration for Best Male Voice in the Classical Category for his work as a guest performer on the CD "Christmas Center Stage."

Figure skater Brian Boitano commissioned Franc to be his Special Musical Guest for his New Year's Special and Academy Award Tribute show - which also featured Michael Bolton - both on NBC. Other TV appearances include Regis and Kelly, Entertainment Tonight, MTV Spotlight and Access Hollywood, where he was the on-air guest correspondent for the movie Phantom of the Opera and is the current guest correspondent for Broadway.

One of Franc's fondest career memories was when Luciano Pavarotti personally invited him to sing and work with the living legend at his home in Italy. Franc is currently on a 76-city tour performing his one-man show, "Franc D'Ambrosio's Broadway," and his recently released CD of the same name is the #1 seller on the LML music label.

Join us along the Rio Grande River at the rustic Los Amigos Ranch for some authentic Southwestern cuisine, dancing, live stage shows with native dance troupes, and a bonfire on the patio. Enjoy one last night with all your WAA friends. This will be the perfect setting to relax after a very full conference week. Come casual, and plan for potential brisk weather in the evening. We recommend boots or closed-toe shoes as there is sawdust on the floor. WAA will provide busing to the ranch.
