The WAA Annual Conference brings together performing arts professionals around the shared desire of connecting artists and live audiences for one week of business, networking, and learning.

The Commons, our combination meeting, event, and exhibit space encourages discovery, conversation, and connection.

WAA hosts an exciting array of Hospitality Events, scheduled to give you time to relax and enjoy yourself with peers and colleagues. From The Opening Reception to The Annual Awards Luncheon and Closing Night Reception, WAA events provide excellent networking opportunities for you to discover new acquaintances and reconnect with old friends.

Participants in WAA's Mentor Program receive one-on-one career advancement and professional development guidance throughout the year. New colleagues as well as any WAA member can take advantage of partnering with an experienced colleague in their field and benefit from the lively exchange of ideas and fresh perspectives. Early to mid-career professionals - WAA's NextGen - have a vested interest in the future of the performing arts field. This subgroup of the WAA membership works hard throughout the year and hosts its own after-party for future leaders to connect and participate in some inspired conversation and serious bonding.

Our New Zealand delegation is hosting ‘Haere Mai!’ – ‘Welcome!’ on Wednesday for a meet and greet with the producers and Juried Showcase artists.

When exhibiting hours are over for the day, Dine Around the city of Phoenix for further networking! Take advantage of the opportunity for a sit-down meal in a small group setting. Dine-Arounds infuse the buzz of The Commons into a more intimate environment. Meet colleagues you may not otherwise connect with during the conference and try a taste of the area's local cuisine.

Scheduled Dine Arounds:
Tuesday, September 2 from 8:30pm - 10:00pm
Wednesday, September 3 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm

You can reserve your spot for a Dine-Around onsite in Phoenix; sign-up sheets will be posted across from registration. Space is limited. Dinners are dutch-treat and paying with cash is recommended.

Coordinate with others and Walkpool to off-site events. Set a particular departure time for an event and/or exchange numbers to meet up! Take advantage of the comfort of numbers and enjoy downtown together. Sign-up sheets will be posted across from registration and delegates will be responsible for all logistics.
