The WAA Conference convenes presenters, artists, and agents around the shared goal of programming live performances. The five-day schedule is filled with exhibits, performances, networking, speakers, classes and workshops. Unlike traditional trade shows, The Commons - our combination meeting, event and exhibit space - is where it all happens. With everything right at your fingertips in the vibrant city of Long Beach, the WAA Conference is a hub of activity, full of opportunities for artistic exploration and gaining insight and expertise from dedicated professionals.
For Presenters
From established artists to emerging talent, access artists in every discipline to fit your programming needs and budget. Expand your artistic programming expertise and technical knowledge through our Professional Development courses, in-conference workshops, roundtables, and conversations with peers. WAA's unique Performance West Series provides wonderful opportunities to enjoy a full evening of dance, theatre, or music, while our Affiliated and Juried Showcases allow you to sample the diverse talents of the delegation.
For Artists, Managers, and Agents
Share your or your artists' work with more than 200 presenting organizations based in the West. The Commons is your best resource for connecting with presenters and colleagues. Introduce a project to a room full of Presenters during our Discovery Sessions, or enjoy great social and professional networking over local cuisine on a Dine-Around. Broaden your range of practical skills for planning and achieving effective tours during our Professional Development Institute. Performing artists will find opportunities for stimulating discussions about art and ideas with other artists, agents, and presenters.
For 2011, Western Arts Alliance will be returning to Seattle, WA, August 29 to September 2.
